God's love goes beyond what we can comprehend with our physical senses. It is by the power of His Spirit that we can better understand the depth of His love. As believers, find out how we can tap in to the wisdom and knowledge that is in Christ by standing in faith on the Word.
God wants His people to know the depth of love today. The desire of His heart is for us to know how important we are to Him.
He went to the greatest length to reconcile man’s relationship with himself. Because of His great love and the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus, He has provided for our every need.
As we recognize this, we can also see the importance of extending His love to one another as well as the world. Let’s reach out. Let’s join together in His love and in faith. Let’s witness in the natural what God has provided for us in the Spirit.
That He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fulness of God.
This prayer is God’s will for the body of Christ. It says we can know the breadth, length, depth, and height of the love of Christ. How? There is only one way: by the power of His Spirit. God’s love passes knowledge (goes beyond what we can comprehend with our physical senses). It may be more than we can mentally comprehend on our own, but it is not impossible for us to know. First Corinthians 2:9, 10 says the Spirit reveals to us the deep things of God.
God’s Promise to the Believer
An example is god’s promise to the believer in Philippians 4:19. But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God is the creator of all things and He is more than able to take care of the needs of a human being. All needs of this life have already been met in the spiritual realm. Jesus paid the price and unlocked the door between heaven and earth. The Bible says all the wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ Jesus. It also says we are in Christ Jesus, that we have been filled with the mind of Christ. So, as believers, we are in a position to tap into the wisdom and knowledge that is in Him.
The Natural and the Supernatural
Psalm 42:7 says, Deep calleth unto deep…. I see this as two different worlds—the natural, physical world and the supernatural, spiritual world. The first “deep” of the natural world cannot conceive of a need that has not already been provided for in the second “deep” of the spiritual world. The creation is not deeper or more developed in needs than the Creator is in answers. This physical world will never become greater than God. He created it and He will always be the Supreme, All-Sufficient One. He is God and He will always be God.
When He created the world, He planned to supply it forever according to His riches. But Satan got involved in the Garden of Eden and severed the tie between God and man. It took Jesus, coming and paying the price for man’s sin, to rejoin the natural to the spiritual. Satan has severed man’s supply line to God, but Jesus came and rebuilt the bridge.
Exceeding Great and Precious Promises
According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:3,4).
These exceeding great and precious promises are the bridge that connects the natural realm of man to the spiritual realm of God. The Word is the method by which the first “deep” calls unto the second “deep,” causing the things of God (things that pertain unto life and godliness) to be manifested in the natural realm. By using these exceeding great and precious promises, we become partakers of the divine nature of God.
God’s Divine Nature
What is God’s divine nature? Love. His divine nature is to supply. He is a giver, not a taker. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16).
In 2 Corinthians 7:1, Paul wrote: Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear (or reverence) of God. What promises? They are listed in chapter six, verses 16-18.
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for (1) ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, (2) I will dwell in them, and (3) walk in them; and (4) I will be their God; and (5) they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean things; and (6) I will receive you, and (7) will be a Father unto you, and (8) ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Paul took these eight promises of the old covenant and knew them as a reality in His own life. Even though he had plotted against the Christians and stood by while Steven was stoned, he could honestly write: Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man (2 Cor. 7:2).
The man who plotted against the church died on the road to Damascus and a new man was born. Whether he felt like an apostle or not, whether he looked like an apostle or not, he took God at His Word and acted on it by faith. When he did, God released the power in the spiritual realm to bring to pass these promises in the spiritual realm.
Take God at His Word
Every believer today should be like Paul. Take God on His Word and act on it. If you need healing, take God’s promise for healing and stand on it. Become a partaker of God’s divine nature and healing will be manifested in your life.
If you need success on your job, then take God’s promise. He said, “I will bless what your hand finds to do” (Deut. 28:12). Begin to act like God’s Word is so. Expect the work of your hands to prosper. When you do, God will manifest Himself in a very special way and things will improve. God is not a man that He should lie. He is true to His Word. Praise God!
